About

Adam Arola currently works as a strategist at Wieden+Kennedy in Portland, OR.

Adam Arola is a peculiar man.  He was raised in a mixed race - Ojibwe and Finnish - household in the frozen tundra of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula prior to moving to Ann Arbor as a teenager.  He cut his teeth on pasties, fry bread, Toy Machine videos, Rudimentary Peni, Mobb Deep, Richie Hawtin, Friedrich Nietzsche, Theodor Adorno, and fighting with rednecks.  He is an iconoclast and an autodidact.

He has somehow found his way to a Ph.D. in Philosophy, multiple DJ battle championships, European tours drumming in Hardcore Punk bands, mastering tracks used by Kendrick Lamar in his recent Grammy performance, overseeing millions of dollars in annual sales, and numerous Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament wins.  And he knows when to use an Oxford comma.

His rhetorical skills, his knack for quippy compositions, his fine ear for music, and knowledge of youth culture make him a unique asset as a strategic planner
